Are Boris Johnson’s Days as PM Numbered?

It seems that the announcement of the impending lockdown of England was a bit of a mess and the decision of Cabinet was leaked to the media. It also appears that members of Boris Johnson’s party are a little angry that he has ignored the scientific advice and took too long to impose a lockdown on the country. There is one report that I have read that Boris Johnson will be lucky to be prime minister beyond next year, what do we think? Will England be able to come out of lockdown prior to Christmas?

Most likely England will be out of lockdown before Christmas, that’s if the of virus transition is somehow tamed. It will be a bad situation to have Christmas in lockdown. And then, to be a British Prime minister is not a simple job, it could turn out to be one of the most temporary jobs in Britain. Not very predictable.

Hi Edward, I personally don’t think Boris will be replaced. Its unprecedented times and I don’t think anyone actually wants his job at the moment. Plus although he comes across sometimes as a bumbling idiot he is doing a good job as PM. I think the lockdown will be relaxed 2nd week in December because the economy will need a boost with spending. They must just restrict shop opening times and customer numbers again

I don’t  think he would removed from his post. I guess he was ensuring that it is absolutely necessary to go into another phase of lockdown. Also, he was infected and was taken into intensive care. Having gone through the excruciating pains of the infection, he knows better when to declare another phase of lockdown.

I think the Boris Johnson has a close relation to Donald Trump. During Trump presidency, the US has become more nationalist and doing America First Policy. The UK seems to move in the similar direction especially related to the Brexit. It is my very personal opinion that if Trump win the 2020 election, then Boris Johnson will secure his post as a Prime Minister.

I don’t think that the lockdown issue will put Johnson’s job at risk – at least for now. The pandemic is tricky business for many leaders. Johnson must just get a good Brexit deal and everybody will be happy.

England must leave in lock down before Christmas,it won’t be a good situation to celebrate the Christmas in lock down for those who are Christians. His position of PM will not be affected by the lock down. He is doing great for England for now.

Like other leaders in Europe , the British prime minister did not take Corona virus as a deadly disease. He delayed to put up travel restrictions .Most innocent people have died .This will cost him some votes  but not much to lose the main election.

Yes I think Boris’s job is safe. he is doing the right thing now and trying to be honest about the mistakes made and is communicating the plan going forward.

It could be true, and maybe many others leaders should also get worried. This situation the it’s been handled, has left a lot of anger among the citizens and it’s a cause for worry.

Yes i think of PM’s/Leaders jobs will come under scrutiny from how they have dealt with the COVID pandemic. I think a lot of them can still save their jobs if they show they are in control and they recover the situation.

Gareth, What do you think the government is underperforming in handling the pandemic?

The government and the people must gather together and take drastic measures to handle the pandemic issues. Government must cooperate with the population to save the country.

From another point of view, I think Johnson is a clever man and he has handled the pandemic in an effective way. Since he came to office he has performed very differently from the Johnson before a prime minister. I think he’s a listening man, who heeds to advice and his job may be safe for the moment.

Boris Johnson is considering the economy of Britain that have compressed already that was why he didn’t force the lock down immediately the resurgence of COVID-19 was noticed. However, Boris has been trying to cotale the situation in which Teresa May led the country into.

I don’t think they will laid off him due to the corona virus issue. The decision he made to go under lock down is a good decision for me as many new cases were recorded every day.

The UK  government has done meritocracy work for keeping corona virus at a minimal level. This will put the prime minister in better position during the next general elections.
