Here is a recent loss on the lower time frame one hour. The ribbon system is what drew my attention to the trade then the fibs seemed to agree as well. Can anyone tell me why this trade was a bad idea?

This is a fun test to keep you sharp….

    Charles,

I will tell you from my point of view.
The price is above too strong suport level, at the lowest point ever, and it is formed too strong long trade setup, but the bollinger bands are far appart, and bullish candle have an upper shadow. All that means the bears are still strong and they will probably tested support line, and they are. Your trade setup wasn’t bad but your SL should be wider

I see its good and it’s working, and TP should be triggered by now!? you are doing fine man.

just one thing at your fibo 0.0% level the (AB) leg only one bearish candle to the right, where I remmber from Raj we must see two bearish candles lower than each other to conform the AB leg; correct me if I am wrong please.

    Thank you Moaied, πŸ™‚

Ribbo system seems to be easier than Fibo. Is it essential that 1) candle breaks the ribbonand then 2) two moving averages cross each other or it can be alos vice versa – 1) two moving averages cross each other then 2) candle breaks the ribbonand?

And do you use Fibbo only in following trend or also in for reversals/swing trades?

    Thanks πŸ˜‰

as long you are with the mane trend and you get a ribbon cross with spread, that will be your entry signal; for more examples and detail go over the first part of the ribbon topic that I sent you, it’s rich with great answers; and if you keep going in it you will see many trades that can help a lot.

as for fibo, lets say we have a fibo on a big trend, we can drew a small fibo to see the possible target if the price is making a retrace.

here is a example on Oil, please check the link:https://www.luckscout.com/forums/topic/oil-scenario/

    EroGbp Win

    EruGbp Win Fibs 101

Nice little profit from this fibs trade. I would have taken the trade earlier but the ribbons had not crossed yet, so i waited for another opportunity. The fibs and ribbons had me going in the right direction so i just needed a decent candle formation. It came with bullish confirmation after a doji right around the 786 level which has a 127 target. I placed the tp right under the 127 because it was even with a previous high i wanted a lil room encase it was rejected by that old level. It is always nice to set and forget a trade only to discover it has hit the target while you sleep. Does it get any better than that my friends i dont think so! Thanks for listening. Comment are welcomes as always. ttyl

I use the fibs 101 system for buy and sell signals as well as targets and the ribbon system to enter the trade. It has been working very well so far…

Although Fibs seem to be very tempting they also seem to be very tricky.
Isn’t that Fibs are quite useless for target setting if the market is moving sideways? Because then it moves between 100 and 0.
And when the market is trending and you plot the Fibs how can you be sure that it’s really retracing (reacting to Fib level’s support/resistance) and not breaking throught it? I mean that it seems to be so simple on historical chart but not at all obvious on live chart.

What your take on this Bollinger Band break out on the 4hr eruousd chart?
Seems strong except fr the upper wicks on the bull candles. The other negative i see is the fibs 618 signal from the day chart hast not been fulfilled.

I agree it can be tricky however big you get GBE hang of it very profitable. I’m still learning by no means a master but I’ve been profitable in my demo account three months in a row using fibs 101. I’ve bee been unable to do that within the other system that I have tried. I think practicing is key. The fact that the Fibonacci sequence does using many other fields give me more confidence to use it and the currency Market. I also like it because it gives more signals which fits my training Style. I suppose it’s not for everybody but I seem to do well with it and the ribbon system used as entry and exit. Hope this helps. Talk to you later

I think one should pass om the current formation concerning the erousd day chart. The fibs 61.8 level has held, the pair is trapped in a triangle with support just below and the biggest negative is that it has been in a sideways market for a while now and i know Chris and kamal usually avoid sideways markets like the plague. That’s my take on the the situation. see yea next time.

Thanks for the kinds words and long time no see old friend! You were one of the first i remember seeing when i first came to fxkeys a cpl years back, so you have a special place in my heart friend. It has been a very interesting journey so far would you agree? I am not quite there yet but i agree i have matured a bit since i first came to the site. I hope to become more active in the future. Nothing will stop me though, truly believe we all are finally in a real good position to become wealthy, in fact i write this from a bench on canal st. borrowing the power from one of the lucky stores who got there power turned on after the hurricane that tore our town apart. Anyway great to hear from you brother! Thanks again your complements mean alot and are very effective at keeping motivated.

Had a little time to try to post some of my trades and the first one i pulled up was a decent winner. I ended up closing it early and i cant remember why but I made a cpl hundred dollars on the trade. My thinking here was a retest of the ribbons there wasn’t a good retraces as far as the fibs.

Im pretty sure someone has mentioned what is happening on the eruousd day chart but I wanted to play around with my brokers platform πŸ™‚ so I thought i would share my chart and thoughts.

Seems the pair has broken out of the triangle it was trapped in, of course we have to wait until the 5pm est closing candle for the new guys around. We always trade what we see not what we think we might see. It has alot going for it so far, it would comply to the stochastic support breakout system taught here as you can see its pegged under 20lvl, macd has crossed to the down side, my favorite is that a series of candle have not been able to break the 61.8 fibs 101 level, this would give us a nice profit down to the 162 target and there does not appear to be much in the way for it to get there. Keep in mind i dont think this fits a 100% set up per our main system and i doubt Chris or kamal will be taking this trade if it manifest. This analysis is not complete though as well i am sure there are factors i have missed, however im also sure someone will fill in the blanks if there are any because we have a great group of very talented traders on this forum that are always eager to help. With that being said i turn it over to you my friends comment thought and analysis as always are most welcome. Thanks for letting me share. ttyl

Thanks Ben I knew you would have had your eye on this pair and can always count on you for great advice. I notice the monthly in a bit of BB squeeze which is always interesting. I’ve already lost some money in demo trying to short the after a good win a cpl weeks ago so i think ill settle down and wait for something strong to happen. ttyl

    You are welcome Charles,

I usually do not trade breakouts, but I do when candlestick break just a little support/resistance line, because I can set a tight SL,like in USDCHF last night. But now, the candlestick is too big, and the market is probably oversold, and your SL should be wider
