COVID-19 in the UK

Yes it appears the Northern winter be extremely interesting and in my opinion it is when the weather starts to cool down the number of cases starts to increase. I saw that in Australia when we got to mid March the numbers of infections started to rise especially after we allowed a cruise ship to dock and infected passengers disembarked and then we had a large number of deaths in nursing homes or aged care facilities. I know in one state of Australia has already had a second wave and Sydney continues to experience infections.
It is likely that Australia will experience a second wave come autumn.

The restrictions aren’t really that bad – not socializing indoors and pubs closing at 10pm. Really!! surely people can live without these for a short while. Or maybe as I dont go to the pub and have no friends it doesn’t affect me!!
I am interested in staying alive though so Im happy with. I lost my mum to coronavirus a few months ago so know the heartache it causes.
I think people dont take it seriously if they havent been directly affected.

I don’t think infections will rise to the level of Feb/March when the hard lockdown restrictions were introduced. Some communities are already benefiting from herd immunity.

UK has the highest number of death in Europe,with over 43000 people have died of Corona related disease.The number of reported cases of Corona by yesterday  was above 722000 persons.
The second wave of Corona virus has reached  it’s peak with over 10000 new cases reported daily.
This however is attributed to vigorous mass testing of  most nationals.
UK government has remampped it’s location into three zones with each area with it’s own restrictions and lockdown.
In addition to general guidelines of World Health Organisation like putting masks on faces, avoiding croud, transport measures , continuous washing of hands .All this is aimed at reducing the disease .

Definitely need tighter restrictions and enforcement and its all out of control at the moment

Some areas in the UK have been placed under Tier3(very high alert level) which carries stringent restrictions. Liverpool is in tier3 and Greater Manchester about to be put on that level. Wales to go into two-week lockdown. Germany to impose lockdown in Bavaria area. Things are not looking good.

It seems that a lot people get angry when their liberties are under threat.

Government is exaggerating the COVID-19 cases in UK. Is not as severe as government is making it now. I think the government is making merchandise of the COVID-19 virus in UK as well as in Nigeria.

It’s is of great concern, that governments continue to impose lockdowns time and again. I think they should look for other solutions than impossing lockdowns. 
You know, these lockdowns affect so much the local person, people’s livelihoods have been wiped out completely, and the responsible governments are looking on folding hands while the local citizens are suffering. I’d suggest that we look for a compromise in this regard. When it comes to Africa, I can tell you, even they have used this a political weapon to destroy those opposed their ideas.

As of yesterday cases of Corona virus have continued to increase,873800 total cases with almost 20000 daily registered cases.So far UK continues to register over 44800 cases of death due to the disease.
The government and it’s people should support all guidelines and restrictions so that the number of new cases can come down.

Lockdowns have worked here in Australia and we have the advantage of being an island continent and we were able to close and control our borders.
All states in Australia have single digit verified cases  and they should keep going down now that we enter summer. I am not so sure when that turns into autumn and then winter.
We need a vaccine.

The government must do everything to reduce the raising of news cases. People also help the government by respecting the meseaures took by the government. Let’s pray God for them too .it’s very harmful

According to current figures UK still continue to have the highest number of Corona cases,as of 28-10-2020,there are 942275 registered cases,45675 total death,and daily cases of over 20000 cases .
The government has put up more restriction measures including banning the visiting of other households indoor and increasing fine for non facemask dressing to 200 pounds,and government has promised to enforce rules by allocating more funds to police authority.

UK total lockdown unlikely , only local restrictions imposed.

I really feel sorry for the people of UK and the world at large, where the hell are we heading to!?

Considering the increased number of cases, the UK should adopt more stringent approach to curb the spread.

We are in lockdown now for another month starting on Thursday – a little late but at least its happening. Hopefully this will help slow down the virus.

Yes I heard this Gareth on the news. It appears there are issues across Europe and other European countries are either joining or are considering a lockdown. It is probably the only way to go as you guys are about to enter winter and if this thing escalates too much then your health systems will collapse under the weight of the new cases.
I know it is sad and there will be a lot of angst but it may be better in the long run as you really do not want to experience what New York went through earlier in the year.
I feel for you all in the northern hemisphere.

Hi Edward, its not so bad really. Everyone whines about it but surely they would prefer to get it resolved rather than dying. Some people clearly have the wrong priorities in life

The number of news cases and death is increasing every day. The government declare the lock down in most Cities and stricter restrictions to move and travel.

News cases are raising every day. All the country went into the lock down until December. They will not surely celebrate the Christmas party into the lock down.

The resurgence of COVID-19 pandemic in UK led to the movement restrictions and social services denied to the public.

Hopefully people here in the UK will get the message this time that until everyone starts following the rules these lockdown’s will keep happening as we need to get the virus under control otherwise the health service will collapse and then we are all doomed.

What is the current state of UK health service Gareth? Does the number of infected health workers increased?

It’s a complicated situation for UK, but if it’s the last option, than people’s lives and more important.

COVID-19 in the UK is a result weather condition.

Movement restrictions on the COVID-19 is for the poor and average. Those who have masterminded COVID-19 are not restricted in any form. This COVID-19 is to implement evil agenda of 2021.

I hope this situation will be solved as soon as possible. It’s not easy to be locked at home. The 3 months i spent in lock down was a pill to swallow for me,i hope things will be better in a short period of time.

Lockdown is very easy if the alternative is possible death. People just need to get a grip and realise if they do it properly then it wont last as long. Flout the rules and it will keep happening. Lockdown doesn’t mean you are stuck in your house as you are allowed to go out and exercise just not in groups. You can still go to shop as long as you follow the rules

UK should tighten the rules for lockdown.Otherwise 21350 cases registered in a single day is too much .It may end up in USA style . why does UK copy from Japan and Germany, they have high levels of population concentration ,but, there figures of Corona virus have remained in control.

I think the situation in UK is under control and there is already the news vaccine available for UK citizens.

The number of cases are still high ,500 and above people are still dying daily and over 66000 people have died so far.lets wait and see the effect of vaccination on transmission rate may be by end of this year new cases will reduce.

It was really sad at the beginning, but i hope things are getting better these days because the vaccine is already available in UK since the beginning of December.
