🚨Do You Agree With Capital Punishment?

I have just read a story on the news services about a rush of Federal Executions in the US now that the Republicans are about to leave office. Apparently there is a convention in America that there are now Federal executions while the government is transition. There are a number of executions being planned in the coming weeks and there have been more this year than in a long time.
Does your country have the death penalty? Do you agree with what is effectively State sanctioned murder?

Death penalty have to be in any country to prevent people innocent for nothing. The laws of my country for killing people depend on the situation that the event happening. If you kill someone willingly, you have to spend the rest of your life in prison.

Capital punishment is prohibited here. It should also be abolished worldwide because it dehumanises human beings.

It’s unfortunate that this form of punishment still exist and probably some people are still being punished in this way up to now. But, it should be abolished in all it’s form.

In my country, capital punishment was changed to life imprisonment , minimum 20 years in prison.I support capital punishment for murder, defilement, and rape.An eye for an eye,as long as it is prooved beyond reasonably doubt ,that you killed a person ,you should pay for it.

Hi, Edward.

That is an interesting question.

I always object to the death penalty in any law system. Why? Because it can be used as a legal-weapon to eliminate political enemies, especially the enemies of those currently in power. In Indonesia, there is a death penalty. But, so far it is only for high-level crime such as drug smuggling and terrorism.

More investigation should be done before confirming such punishment, many innocents people have lost their lives in the past and the guilty are alive, remind unpunished.

I can not say that I support capital punishment. I feel it is morally wrong to take another human beings life for what ever crime was committed. I view it as murder because in the end it is still partaking in someone’s death. I may not follow Cristian believes but I do feel something out there must have created us and we do not have the right to decide who lives and dies. I have some concerns apart from the above mentioned such as what happens when someone was wrongfully accused and punished for a crime they did not commit. There has been countless people that ended up in prison even though they may be innocent. It is very easy to make an error and then in the end these people may face unfair punishment that may even result in death as punishment. So apart from it not agreeing with me morally I do not think it is always justifiable as far as mistakes goes and it has happened before. I think capital punishment should  remain in the past.
