📺Do You Trust Television News and Internet News?

Television networks and internet news portal are our main source for political news. Recently, we can also obtain news from social media. But, the credibility of the last source is still questionable.

However, we have seen in the last few years that the media is not doing what they should. Naturally, the media should be neutral and inform the public an unbiased facts and information. But, the media today is clearly biased and used as a tool to manipulate people opinion to their advantage.

Well, I don’t trust government owned TV stations and online news, these are the carriers of lies.

Shane Collins replied 2 weeks ago

Yes true they may carry the lies but everyone else becomes conspirators when there is disagreement so it may be better to get the news from them as only they can tell you what the next move is.

Reputable news agencies normally carry accurate and reliable news. Social media news are the ones that should be taken with a pinch of salt until fully verified by the people affected by such news items ,or by reputable news agencies.

I also do not trust government owned televisions and newspapers especially in Africa because news reporters are biased, they cannot be independent in news analysis,as breaking news against government can make one loose job ,so in order to remain with bread ,you have to continue giving news which are in the interest of the government in power.

Nowadays it is so many sources for news in the media.  It seems to be a lot of such kind of sources that are not trustworthy.  You have to use your critical sence when you read them or look at video clips and TV news.  I think official networks are reliable, but it is also TV stations that have different approach to political news and situations.  The big newspapers are normally objective in their presentation of the news.

I trust the news from traditional news media. When I’m news, go to CNN, BBC, sky news etc. They’re more reliable to me.

I have stated using the CNN and SABC news channels I no longer listen to what is shared on social media and or the internet I feel the media is using its ability to scare us and manipulate us. There is just way to much fake news going about it has become really hard to focus on the real stuff. That is why I started supporting news channels that I know relays the real news because honestly I am tired off this fake nonsense causing unnecessary distress. Maybe there is truth in the fake news I don’t know what to believe anymore however I think it is wise to only listen to what real news channels share with us as that is where all the real talk about our current situations is coming from.
