How Did the Ban on Tobacco Products Affect You and What Is Your Opinion on the Hole Ban?
The sale of tobacco products was prohibited in South Africa during the first few stages of lockdown so my question is how did this affect you and what is your opinion on the ban of tobacco products?
I don’t personally involved in the tobacco business and don’t personally consume tobacco products. But last year I have involved in research on Tobacco Smallholder Farmers in Indonesia, in cooperation with the Leaf Supplier of Phillip Morris, one of the primary tobacco product manufacturer in the world. From the study, we found that the current regulation of tobacco control affects the tobacco industry immensely. The ban of tobacco at the world level is transmitted to the farm. I think that the further ban on tobacco product will damage the small farmer in tobacco producing countries as well as the related economic activity around it.
Very true all tobacco farms have lost a lot of money in this period and further disturbance in the tobacco market will have a immense impact on the smaller tobacco farms and or businesses.
The tobacco harvest period has just begun in my locality. It seems that the market can absorb all of the harvested leaf, but I am not sure about the price. Maybe I will plan another visit to several tobacco farmers.
It had no any impact on me because I don’t any tobacco substance/ products.
The restrictions on tobacco products didn’t affect me that much because I don’t use tobacco. I do of course know of a number of my friends who quit smoking because of the restrictions. Cigarettes were available on the black market but quite expensive to the ordinary man on the street and people were forced to improvise or quit altogether. Unfortunately this had an adverse effect on the tobacco industry and even now the producers are still struggling to recover.
Very great that your friends managed to stop smoking that is one positive thing but I also think that the tobacco market is going to take a very long time before all is back to normal
Becoming a level of success to a country if tobacco products are banned and can reduce the number of smokers to the smallest level
I’m not involved in any kind of tobacco business. I don’t smoke neither drink alcohol .Many people are involved in this business in my country although it is completely ban by the law.
Firstly, I am not a tobacco consumer and secondly, it was not banned in Nigeria.
I would like it to be banned in my country because I hate tobacco with fervour.
