
How Did the Closure School During covid-19 Lockdown Affect Learner’s?
After the outbreak of Covid-19 in march 2020, all the Institutions of learning closed down. Learner’s were sent back to their respective homes. They have remained at home for the last close to 7 month, until this October, when they reported back to their respective institutions. During this break, quite many things have happened, which have affected our lives. Learner’s had to endure hard time since they are not used to staying at home. Like any other person, these Learner’s were affected too. Suggest way how Learner’s live have been affected by lockdown as a result of Covid19 outbreak.
Students were affected in terms of movement restrictions, being at home from morning to evening .
Students had to change their diet at school posho,beans and some times rice,at homes most families do not take posho daily.
Learning changed from classroom teaching to television teaching,this is very difficult to adapt and learners become demotivated.
Most girls who where in upper classes got married,others were difiled and parents moral to educate their children reduced.
Schools closure during COVID-19 lock down affects learners deeply, from class room teaching to radio and television teaching .
Yes the lockdown did affect students and that is why the Australian government tried long and hard to get our schools operational. Our senior high school students are currently doing their final exams and it will very soon tell us what the impact of COVID has been on their learning.
Our university students have been attending online classes for months now so we do not know the impact of COVID on them yet either.
The school syllabus is the one major thing that was affected by the lockdown. As a result, schools are busy with catch-up activities to finish late in December or early next year. School holidays have been reduced or cancelled to accommodate all these extra activities.
They have had more time to build up their finances through part-time jobs and educate themselves from home. In most cases it hasnt been as bad as it could have been for example when I was at Uni back in 1996-1999. Computers were very slow and clunky and we had to do all our reading from books. The learners of today have no excuse as all the information is at their fingertips if they apply themselves.
Mostly all higher learning institutions still closed . All students asked to go back. Most of the classes now conducted online. The students movement restricted to their house or room. No or less sports activity. No extra curricular activities.
Students were grossly affected by the Covid-19 lockdown and even till now some schools are yet to resume. Moreso, some students that were supposed to write their exams could not write because of the lockdown. Their plans and hope to advance to another were put on hold.
The school closure has affected learners, teachers and parents. In my country students were asked to go back at home and attent online courses which was something difficult for students and parents. Most families don’t have television neither can’t afford computer or phone device.Learners become demotivated, stressed ;parents very totally demotivated too.
Staying at home from morning to evening gave opportunity to some students to get pregnant and a total abandone of learning.
Most teachers used not to give online teaching and were not prepared to face all these things. ….
I personally feel that matriculates have suffered the most due to the fact that their schooling career would have been almost over but now due to covid-19 the academic year has fallen behind or if you will a total stand still for seven hole months and now that things are returning to normal surly students and teachers alike are rushing to get all the missed curriculums and modules done and students are rushing to study for upcoming exams wiles trying to catch up and all of this must some how affect our pass rate.

Plenty of time to learn – everyone should get on and enjoy their lives not be stuck looking at books or on computers. Learners should have taken opportunity that they didnt have to learn
Their lives were paused because of the pandemic. Some of them were supposed to write exams but were impeded by the virus after preparing very hard and spending money. It is heart wrenching.
Of course school closure affected learners specially those who were preparing for the exams after hard work ,spend time asleep and money things changed suddenly.
It really affected learning process. School learning migrated from class room teaching to online, television and radio teaching. However, this new teaching method affected the level of understanding of pupils.
In response to COVID-19 school closures and adherence to social distancing, many governments and agencies have recommended the use of distance learning, open educational applications and online learning to reduce disruption to education.
Richer household were advantaged to sustain learning through online learning strategies, with a lot of effort and challenges for teachers and parents. In poorer household many children don’t have a desk, books internet connectivity, a computer, or parents who can take the role of homeschooling. The disparity in access to digital devices and connectivity between Rich and poor is immense.
