🎂Is It Important to You to Celebrate Birthday?
Many people celebrate their birthday. It’s very important in many peoples lives. Some people even plan it for quite long, even a year in advance. But unfortunately, I don’t celebrate my birthday. Probably in future my children may influence me to do so, or maybe they may even meet the cost and do it for me. It has happened to many parents. Maybe it can happen for me too, even you. However, for me I always think that birthday celebrations are meant for the able to do. For me, many times it happens when I’m very broke. Probably, this doesn’t happen to me alone. It can happen to anyone. How do you spend your birthday? Is it so important and do you celebrate it?
It’s a lack of money, poverty that prevent people to celebrate their birthday,otherwise it is a date that everybody should take pleasure while celebrating.i have never celebrated my birthday anniversary properly.
Leno, I also don’t calebrate my birthday, but I thought that, just a simple cake can be enough to celebrate a birthday. Is it really necessary that you be rich to start celebrating your birthday? How do you see this?
I usually don’t celebrate my birthdays. I did so when I was 50, 60 and 70. The other birthdays was only a gathering with my closest family.
I don’t think it’s important to celebrate birthdays. I prefer to pray on my birthday. Pray that I am given a good life and hope to live the next life very well.

If it makes you feel better and happy I see no reason why you shouldn’t celebrate it … especially if you can afford to do so. I usually don’t bother myself with that unless someone else decides to give me a treat.
I agree with you, David. Birthday celebrations for me are things that can be done while I can afford to do them and can make me and others happy
Celebration is good,whether birthday or anniversary celebration,celebration is good.
David. I have seen many parents here who didn’t do so, it’s their children now doing it for them. I also don’t celebrate it, maybe my children will do it for me in future if I’m alive.

Everyone likes celebration so is not different when celebrating birthday.
Not necessarily, but it is important to celebrate it. The days you came on earth is a joyful day,,you parents were happy the day you were born and you should keep reminding yourself that happy day.

It depends on culture,most individuals here in Africa,do not know exactly when they were born,like me I guess the day i was born ,my mammy used to tell me that i was born during planting season of beans around April.Birth days cerebration is another manifestation Neo colonialism in Africa ,in Africa celebration would be only at birth and marriage ceremonies only.

For me it is important to celebrate birthdays anniversary, it one of the best moment in our life. We should be happy every time during this day.
It is important to me. Every human likes celebration, so birthday celebration is not left out. But, for me, I prioritize my life, if I got extra money for the celebration, I will do celebrate my birthday because the that brought me into the world worth to be celebrated.

Yes, some people do not do it, it is not certainly their Will, they would love to celebrate it, but the lack of money or life difficulties can cause them to ignore their birthday. I was one of them, but this year 2021 thank to God and luckscoutclub I’m planning to celebrate it properly and perfectly.
Leno, do you think lack of money is main reason for not celebrating birthdays? Me I don’t think so because it’s not a big party that requires a lot of money. Some people inadvently don’t take it as a serious day worth celebrating. I for one do not celebrate it but I don’t see lack of money as the reason. I don’t think I need a lot of money to do so.
Yes, i totally agree with your Mr Jackson, the lack of money isn’t the only reason that people don’t celebrate their birthday. There are many others factors that can be mentioned too, i just pick up one among them.

It has not been culture in Africa to celebrate birthdays party’s even most bwho celebrate it’s because of western civilisation.There are many people who have money but they do not celebrate birthdays .

Indeed Eli, it’s not our culture in Africa but nothing to do with money. A birthday party does not need too much money to prepare.
My birthday anniversary celebration is important to me, i should celebrate it perfectly with friends, family and closest persons.
Even though it is not necessary to celebrate it properly and perfectly ,this days is very important for me, it has a meaning for me, i should be happy and enjoy every single moment of this day.

I see from your comments that many of you think birthday celebrations is important. I have said earlier that for me it is not important. I assume this is connecting with age and the number of persons you have left in your family. As I also said I have had my celebrations and it was of course nice to be appreciated with a birthday party.
Not really, when I was a kid it was verry important and after christmas the most important day of the year. But now its like…. oh a piece of cake and Im good
