🤱Is Teenage Pregnancy on the Rose?

In the recent past, we have witnessed a surge in under age girls getting pregnant. This issue has been accelerated by recent closure of schools and other learning institutions. In my many parts of the country, many young girls who were in school are now young mothers while others are about it deliver. Probably you could be experiencing the same issue in your country. When one looks at this trend, it leaves a lot of questions than answers. But, is this something that has just happened or it has been the trend? One needs to find out also. What do you think is the major cause of many teenage pregnancies nowadays?

This problem is happening in many countries around the world ,the number are increasing year by year, in my opinion one of the reason is the irresponsability of parents. Many uneducated parents don’t have any control their children, they Leave their children do what they want to do ,children can go out and stay there for a while, their parents don’t say anything. This shows an encouragement for children to act as they want.

This is not only uneducated parents, even educated parents fail to do their responsibilities.

Unfortunately this problem will never be solved and is happening all around the world. Education is the only way to try and solve this but even that will have only a limited effect. Temporary sterilisation is the best way forward.

I certainly have not noticed it here but that is not to say it is not happening. In my experience it generally occurs in lower socio economic areas and here in Australia we have a lot of government handouts for new borns and this was a problem where young women got pregnant for the government payment.
I have not noticed it recently.

Very interesting question teenage pregnancy is indeed increasing and above mentioned replies to your question does in fact contribute to the high teenage pregnancy problem and some cases can be linked to the lack of education and or from young ladies in more disadvantaged situations however the number keeps climbing and it does not seem to only happen to these more underprivileged young ladies and or teens. I feel that the young people of today do not really understand the value of sexual relationships and pure pressure to partake in these sexual activities are worse than ever before just to fit in with the new generation. I also feel that preventing teenagers from partaking in sexual activities are getting increasingly harder if not almost near impossible to do and we can only try and teach them to understand its value and true purpose of sexual activity and just hope that what we say may have a better affect on them as to just simply warning them of the risks of an unwanted pregnancy as that reason alone does not seem to scare teenagers anymore.

teenage pregnancy has been there since the creation of man . currently it has increased  mainly due to poverty, wars and conflict ,and famine.my grand father used to tell us that during famine, families with girls would be exchanged with between 20 to 30 kgs of dry peas, Millet and beans.Every girl who was 15 years and older, would be used as opportunity to get food.

Here, no increase in under age pregnancy . The minimum age set to marriage for girls is 18 and the law really controls the early marriage for girls . Only some girls in rural area involved in young age marriage and get pregnant .

There are so many different scenarios and situations dependent on the country. In the UK I don’t think you would get any food or supplies for your daughter. Because the UK tries to look after it population some exploit that fact and get pregnant so they are given monetary handouts from the government and free accommodation. Its too easy in my opinion and they should not be rewarded for opening their legs!

Mr Gareth, your comment has made me laugh for a while, ((they shouldn’t be rewarded for opening their legs)).
This is another kind of encouragement that they government should stop doing.

Hi, Jackson. That is a very relevant question. And yes, it is a trend, especially in a religious country like Indonesia.

A few decades ago, teenage pregnancy (outside marriage) rarely happened here, because of the religious teaching and custom. However, the globalization has made those value (cultural and religious values) fading away. And we have seen the dramatic increase in outside-marriage teenage pregnancy. It is a shame for us because it shows that our social and educational institution cannot prevent our youth from doing sex before marriage.

Thank you Ahmed, when we look at it from that vintage point, it’s really a shame that our institutions like schools have not helped to combat this vice.

Another reason that is raising the trend is the lack of education in the village area where teeneages have no access to school ,their uneducated parents Leave them by their own. In some villages many get pregnant at the age of 12,13,14.

Teenagers pragnancy is really on the raise, the trend is very different from the past time. Nowadays they get pregnant at the age of eleven years old or thirteen years old.

Yes the trend is worrying and parents and government have to take responsibilities and decisions to stop this issues. The lack of education is one factors, parents should train their children to Cover their bodies entirely. Nowadays young girl used to leave some parties of their bodies to attract young boy who something become unable to control himself in such situation.
