There are many factors that influence the country currency exchange rate including inflation ; interest rate ; country’s current account /Balance of payment ; Terms of Trade ; political stability and performance.

I believe that as Joe Biden is ahead in the polls at present then the US Dollar will be affected as the markets do not necessarily believe that his policies will be the best for the country.
Elections do have an impact on currency markets as traders look at policies and also who is likely to be voted in. It is very similar to the stock market.

The state of the US dollar is determined largely by market forces but at the moment the uncertainty  of the election outcome does have an impact.

The markets are extremely unsure and nervous about the outcome of the election next week and with the talk about violence in the US post election then one should expect the dollar to be down.

Quite right Edward – the markets are all over the place. They have it as Biden is bad for the $ and Trump good for the $. There will be a lot of seesawing of price especially for the next week or so. Dangerous market to trade in.

I think sometimes it follows normal markets trends. Weakness may be due to some other factors that affect the currency markets.

The strength of the dollar depends on several factors, generally the supply and demand ,sometimes it follows the market sentiment, but currently this weakness is due to the election
