Second Wave of COVID-19 in Europe
According to the news, countries like France and Germany have taken proactive step in containing the second wave of COVID-19 by imposing lockdown. The tendency of COVID-19 thriving in cold weather is very high. As a result, some European countries are not taking it lightly because winter is fast approaching.
How bad would the second wave of COVID-19 be in Europe?
I know that New Zealand went into lockdown for a number of weeks and movement was severely restricted. All Australian states went into lockdown for a number of weeks in April and May and Victoria which is the southern state on the Australian mainland has only just come out of lockdown due to a number of clusters and most of Australia is only recording less than ten cases per day.
I think restriction of movement is the key to avoid community transmission.

lockdown is key. The strain is not more prevalent in cold climates but the effects that covid has on the body are increased when in cold regions.
But, the virus doesn’t survive in a hard surface with high sun intensity more than 5 minutes.
The second wave is already in the corner . Different nations have put up strong restrictions eg UK which has the highest number of deaths for Corona virus in Europe has put up more rules on restrictions like the fine for not wearing facemask has been increased to 200 pounds, household members have been banned to visit other households . Other measures have been put up to reduce on the spread.
It seems to be true that the second wave of covid19 is about to appear in Europe. Yesterday French current president Emmanuel Macron has talked about it and the possible lock down again. It’s going to be a difficult and terrible situation for people.
The second wave will be very dangerous since winter is approaching. The weather will be favorable for it propagate and spread. During this time the whole of northern hemisphere may face a serious desaster.
Lockdown is necessary thing to do while we await the release of reliable vaccines.
The second wave won’t be as severe as the first because most countries have proper structures in place, thanks to the initial outbreak.
I hope it doesn’t get worse considering that there are new symptoms now.
All countries in Europe have registered total increase in new cases and death .
This may call for international travel restrictions in the whole world.
French, England and many European countries are going into a new lock down due to the second wave. In England,the PM has decided to go into lock down until the second week of December .many restaurants, bars will be close, church and worship places are close.
People have to stay at home except those who work, need emmergency help etc…
Schools,colleges,and universities remain open.
Our 2nd lockdown starts tomorrow here in the UK – everyone has been out panic buying again to stock up their cupboards. Complete mayhem – hopefully people will follow the rules this time so we dont have a third wave!
Second wave of COVID-19 in Europe is a result of weather in Europe now. COVID-19 could not triumph in most of African countries because hot weather in Africa.
There is certainly no hope for us in the UK then Kenneth we wont see sun and warmth until at least March 2021 🙁

It was reported that Germany Covid-19 cases has increased dramatically. They had 20,000 infections in one day.

This second wave is going to fatigue more people in Europe. I hate being at home for long time without going out. I feel like I’m in prison. Sorry for my England friends.

Kenneth- The awful results speaks for itself. Though, Africans are the least affected people but does not negate the fact that it is real.
COVID-19 is exaggerated even US, Trump ask CNN where the got the record they are broadcasting. Political opponents were manipulating the to bring down their top rival. Here in Nigeria, NCDC is manipulating the number for their selfish interests.
Unfortunately deaths are still going up – we had 2nd highest amount of deaths yesterday since the peak in May. I think it will be tough for the next month and then with the current lockdown the R should fall and deaths lesson. This combined with the vaccine should help us and by March2021 things will look better
In Indonesia, the Covid-19 cases are even increasing. Maybe this is because people neglect health protocols. The government here also does not limit the movement of the people who cause Covid-19 transmission too high.
Yes, the US recorded 3,600 deaths last in one day. In Sydney there has been an outbreak and we are going back to the restrictions that we had a couple of months ago. the rest of the country have closed their borders to Sydney residents and the Sydney to Hobart yacht race that normally starts on Boxing Day has been cancelled for the first time since World War 2.
The Sydney cluster is thought to have been caused by flight crew that either left quarantine or did not quarantine as per the rules. Christmas in Sydney is at risk just like our friends in the UK.
