💉🐁 Should Animal Testing Be Banned?

Animals like monkeys, rats, rabbits and birds are used to test the safety and effectiveness of pharmaceutical drugs in laboratories throughout the world. It is estimated that 100 million animals die each year from these experiments. Only 3% of laboratory animals survive.ย The poor animals experience pain, trauma, blindness and untold suffering before eventually dying from doses of doses of drugs pumped into their tiny bodies. Animal right activists say this practice should be discontinued because it’s outdated, unscientific and there are better alternatives to animal experimentation.
New cutting edge methods are available and already in use.

  1. Computational methods – in vitro studies based on human cells and tissues.
  2. Use of sophisticated high fidelity human-patient simulators.
  3. Research with human volunteers.

Animal testing is known to be very expensive and funded by taxes, charitable donations and purchases of lottery tickets. So members of the public knowingly or unknowingly fund animal experimentation. Animals are different, they don’t get diseases that humans have like Parkinson’s, Alzheimer, HIV or Schizophrenia. So why torture animals to prove that if it can be cured (Schizophrenia) in them, then it can be cured in humans. Where is the logic in all this. Aspirin is toxic to animals, and would not be on our shelves if it was developed using animal experiments.
Should we or should we not discontinue animal testing?

I believe that it is cruel to use animals for product testing and should be discontinued and banned for good. I am an animal lover and believe that animals should be treated fairly. Animals should be protected from violent and or abusive acts such as animal product testing.

It should be banned definitely, no creature deserves that kind of suffering. I support animal rights activists. They should solicit for public support and have rights of these animals protected. Scientists have the means to look for other ways to go about vaccine testing because they are very well facilitated.

It is true that it is not good to use animals for testing products, vaccine or performing laboratory experiences ; we are all living things and they don’t deserve to be traited on that way.
But we have to know that animal that are use in the laboratory for experience are not bad traited, in fact they are well feed, and live in good condition to provide good results of experimentation.

Researches using animal conduct must follow strict ethical and safety conduct. I think that as long as researchers follow this, the use of animal for research should be allowed. Also, there are many benefecial findings come from researches that use animal as the study objects. The wise approach is not completely ban the use of animal in research, but to stringtent the ethical and safety conduct and make sure that this rule is strictly followed by researchers.

it should only be adopted when it is for the benefit of humans and must be done in the most humane way possible.

If there is new technology to replace animal testing then it should be used. Normal people are not allowed to abuse animals so why should corporations.
Ambercrombie & Fitch in the US banned the use of Australian wool because of a practice that was used here to protect sheep from “fly strike” so why can’t the world do this to pharmaceutical companies?

I’d also campaign for the abolition of this act, these animals suffer alot because they can’t talk or do something about it. I think they don’t deserve to be treated as such.

I personally disagree with the use of animals for testing, they don’t deserve that treatment, but they problem is many medicine we use were before tested on animals to approve whether it is good or not for humans being. How will they test new medicines or experiences that need to be proved before using them .

I think animal testing should be banned. Animals are hot humans and their living environment and habitat not same as humans.
Animals and humans don’t have same kind of diseases.

Of all living things humans are the highest or foremost created beings. Other creatures were created to be conquered or controlled by humans. If there are some humans who love other creatures then please love them. If there are some humans who want to take advantage of other creatures for the benefit of humans, then please take advantage of them.

Why not test on convicted criminals instead, especially if they have life sentences.

Animal testing shouldn’t be banned, because it will enable one know the one that has disease

It will be a little bit difficult to ban animal testing, many medicine, biological experimentation are performed on them.

You cannot ban animal testing,It gives foundation for medical research.Testing starts with animals ,before being taken on people. When many animals die the medical trial is abandoned.

But why not test on convicted criminals that way we know if the drugs are effective in humans plus you save the animals

Animal research must be based on animal ethics and safety. If research looks at these two things, I think animal research is a good thing to do.

The harm that is committed against animals should not be minimized, because they are not considered to be human. Animal testing should be eliminated because it violates fundamentales animals rights and causes nothing but pain and suffering.
