Should Entrepreneurship Be Taught at School?
I know it is offered in some colleges, but not at any school I know of. Maybe in some countries. I think that entrepreneurship is very important and relevant in our present day world of computers and the internet. The strides made in business and engineering demand that we prepare our young as early as possible. With the advent of the 4th industrial revolution, it has become even more necessary to have this in place.
People can study business in the schools. But real entrepreneurs never teach people in the schools. They are business with their own entrepreneurship.
It is already being taught in schools but true entrepreneurship skills and training are most times gotten outside the confines of a school environment
Yes they should. However, the teaching of entrepreneurship in school should strongly reflect the real life situation. There should be a radical changes in the curriculum. For example, the students should not be evaluated by their ability to master the cognitive aspect of curriculum. Instead, they should be evaluated in term of their effectiveness as entrepreneur. If they succeed in establishing a good and profitable business then they have passed the test. The primary benefit of teaching entrepreneur in school is that, if succeed, it can accelerate the creation of strong entrepreneurs.
Interesting concept, I am not entrepreneurship can be taught in the classroom and the question remains who will teach it as teachers do not a large salary.
I have just reread this and it does not make sense. I think what I was trying to say is that I am not against entrepreneurship being taught in schools but the question remains who will teach it as teachers do not receive large salaries that an entrepreneur would command.
Apologies for the jibberish
Entrepreneurship is currently taught in many schools. Its taught right from secondary school levels. However skills and trainings given are almost non applicable to current businesses, since entrepreneurship is like a talent.
Entrepreneurship is a very interesting subject. Schools are offering it but that is a little cliché in itself. My understanding is that Entrepreneurship can be learnt but not necessarily taught. Sure some of the general skills can be learnt but the real key is motivation. Both teachers and students need to be motivated to get cohesion
Thanks for the input, I do get the picture now. A school leaver has to horn the skills out there in the real world. Meeting the right people and proper mentoring should put him/her on the right path.
Entrepreneurship is taugh in many schools in my country but it’s not applicable in the real life and most students after school are afraid to do entrepreneurship.
We don’t need to be a graduate in a famous school.it depend on your motivation, your dream and determination .
Entrepreneurship can be a great way to financial freedom, but building a successful business takes a lot times, hard work, perseverance.
À degree is not require to start entrepreneurship or a business but it certainly helps. It depends on what type of business and industry you’re entering. Whoever everyone should have some basics knowledge in business management, marketing, taxes and sells. Your education help you to develop a proper business model, enable you to understand certain low document, or tax laws. It gives you the ability to think critically and analyticaly.
Even if you can successfully break into your industry without a degree ,you will likely need some form of continued education to be a great and professional entrepreneur. Even if that education is informal.
I think it would be great to try and teach it at schools but you really would need great teachers to do so and generally experts in this field do not teach for a teachers salary. Hence why its usually taught in private classes.
It should be taught in schools. I strongly advocate for the entrepreneurship teaching and learning in schools.
Entrepreneurship should be taught in the school. The knowledge of entrepreneur is very vital for a successful business and wealth building.
It seems most of us agree that some form of entrepreneurship course should be made available in our schools. An introductory course would be the right tool to prepare learners for the technologically advanced world out there.
Entrepreneurship lessons are already taught in high school. And often only students who are interested and want to become entrepreneurs study it diligently. This entrepreneurship lesson is very important to be taught in school because there are students who do not have the opportunity to continue their studies at the college or University level to study it. There are many who are successful in the field of entrepreneurs who are involved without higher education. As we all know to be successful entrepreneurs need determination and knowledge and it is good that the determination comes from ourselves while that knowledge can be learned throughout life. Entrepreneurship education in school is very important and necessary for students.
Yes Jonathan what you say is very important and clear, it is not easy to become successful in the entrepreneurship field without having any basic knowledge.it is important to combine determination with knowledge to become very successful. I’m not saying that we can succeed with studies but it won’t be a piece of cake.
Teaching entrepreneurship in schools is very important and the theory should be combined with field practice.
Business basics should taught along with making sure everyone has at least the basic knowledge of Maths and English. From here you can build the rest of the skills needed
Of course to complete your natural skills and potentially increase your understanding of things, it is important to attempt school and some some basics knowledge, new languages, and how to treat admitrative documents .
Teaching entrepreneurship in schools is good but it is much better to learn from successful entrepreneurs.
