Jonathan Yodok asked 3 months ago

There are many countries in the world that do not have adequate water supply for their people. Worse is a small island that has no water catchment and only depends entirely on the supply of its neighboring country. How to overcome this problem, is it true that the current technological advances can solve it through the processing of seawater into treated water that can be used by humans. What is the best solution in the future?

They are so many sources of water  raging from (a) surface water, which comprises of sea water , stream and leak (b) underground water (c) foul water.
There’s no possibility that all these sources will elude the country. In worst case scenario, let the country treat their foul water and send it back for consumption.

This is very possible with technological advances. Sea water can be purified and be used by humans.

Desalination plants are being used in Australia that take the salt out of the sea water and transfer the resulting fresh water into the main water supply. The technology also exists where waste water can be treated and made into drinking water. This is a little less palatable than desalination as people think about waste water and what is in it.
As a society we need to a lot smarter about how we use water and what we can do to conserve our water and then reuse.

There are many technology possible to treat any kind of water to be used for humans needs. Sea water can be dominated, underground water don’t need lot of treatment and purification. Each country has at least one possible solution to get pure water.

The earth is majorly composed of water. Water supply shouldn’t be an issue because there are several sources of water.

Water is not a big problem to handle, only in the big cities ,in many villages in Africa, specially in my country, we don’t treat underground water.we use water from rivers without any treatment and use it for our needs.

Water supply  problem can be easily solved by water harvesting in areas which receive rainfall and areas which are dry they can use piped water which is purified and treated for human consumption. However population should be controlled to create balance  for both humans, and environment.

Some part of Nigeria has water problems, even to sink a bole hole is a big issue. These set people rely on rain water for sustaince. They store water in their reservoir during raining season, the stored water will be used all through the dry season.
