🌍 What Do You Think a World Government Will Look Like?

The United Nations (UN) was established after World War II and is active to this moment. If we carefully analyze the organizational structure of the UN, they are like the government of the whole world.

In the UN, there is FAO who acts like Ministry of Food and Agriculture, the WHO who acts as the Ministry of Health, and other institutions. What if, there is a one-world government and we use only one currency, and we belong only to one nation?

I think it would have a structure almost similar to that of UN, but heavily staffed.

I am actually worried about a world government where it could be overrun by a certain ideology that could suppress those of an opposite view. I think there are enough countries in the world where this stuff happens so we do not need this to be spread all over the world.
At present the UN is pretty hopeless and really cannot do a hell of a lot and let us look at the WHO who have been influenced by China in regards to an investigation into their role in COVID.
Not in my lifetime.

Yes I wold agree with Jackson, the structure of a world government would follow the one of the UN as this is the closest ever comparable. It wouuld never happen though due to too many conflicts.

Jackson & Gareth — The structure may be similar to the UN and is also heavily staffed. However, the structural changes may be that we have world taxation system and also there will be only one military force.

Edward — The UN has been established after World War II. It means that it is required a full scale world war only to establish an organization like the UN, where there is no one taxation system and one military force. I think it is required another full scale war, and I think it is bigger than the previous world war to establish a world government. You are right to hope that the world government is not happen during your lifetime.

On the other hand, I guess confussion and disagreement would be common in this kind of government because it would be so ambiguous and most of the powers would be delegated. Therefore, some leaders would do what pleases them and not what pleases the people.

I think that will not be possible as the ideologies are different and conflicts of power will make things difficult.
We know each country is Under the government of the United Nations it’s won’t be an easy to have one structure for the whole world that will satisfy all countries at the same point.

The idea of a world government would defeat the purpose of our existence. We were created to be different and to make our own choices that fit our cultures and habitats.

The same problems will still exist though because they cant change the way individual countries work and they certainly couldn’t apply the same rules for every country because they all have their own individual problems.

Jackson — That is true. Managing such a vast government would require the central authority to delegate much of their power and authority. However, the state government also delegate some of their authority to local government. Only the current state government performs it on a smaller scale.

Leno & Gareth — Yes, not soon. But imagine that every country, such as your country, Guinea, also consisted of people with diverse cultural background. And your constitution united that diversity into one country. Is it impossible that in the future, there is a world constitution that unites all human race regardless of their country of origin?

David — Being under a world government does not mean a loss in identity. Imagine that the alliances of 50 different states formed the United States, and after the federal government was formed, each state does not lose their identity and unique characteristics. But, the main advantage of this unity (in the framework of USA) there will be very little probability that a war between states exists. For example, Texas would never get a war with Oklahoma under the framework of this federal government.
