What Is Your Opinion on the Farm Attacks in South Africa? Is There a Solution?
The rising farm attacks and murders in South Africa is fueled by hatred and is causing major problems in South Africa’s food security and beside the food insecurity there are whispers of a war. If there is no solation to this problem any time soon I see a very grim future ahead. What do you think is going to happen if there isn’t a solution found soon? Do you think we are looking at a possibility of war breaking out and if not what do you think about the rising food security problems is there a possible solution?
I would suggest that a proper investigation be done to determine the root cause of the farm attacks for a solution to be granted.
I am not sure about these as they have not been reported in the Australian media. If you could provide more detail I would be interested.
There is actually a huge problem in South Africa and I was not aware that it has not been made public to the rest of the world.
Farm murders are on the rise due to the believes that the land farmers are on belongs to people with more ancestral claims to the land however murdering farmers and may I add that the level of brutality that is acted out on the farmers in South Africa has caused major problems in the countries food security and of course it would because it is not like there is only one farmer murdered but hundreds of farmers in South Africa farming has become a very dangerous profession.

In Africa, the conflict between farmer and nomadic herder has occurred for a long time. I have reviewed several paper that studied these event in detail. The conflict occurs more frequently during a certain period.
According to Bheki Cele, the South African minister of police, farm attacks are carried out by common criminals and affect all farmers ( black and white) and their farm workers. Most of these crimes are classified as aggravated robbery on a farm or dwelling.
Unfortunately the law enforcement agencies are not on top of their game and this makes matters worse. I don’t think we would be having this discussion if the police were doing their jobs properly. Two suspects are presently being tried for the murder of Brenden Horner in the town, Senekal, in the Free State province.
Farm attacks is my opinion is performed by criminals ,armed robbers to steal money, or goods. It can have lot of causes, the police have to investigate to get a clear understanding about it.
This is something that should have been handled properly by the government by compensating people who lost their land. In the first place, this land was grabbed from the indigenous people by those white settlers in the early years of colonialism . “What goes around comes around” But all in all, I think the government should not close one eye and let this go on unchecked. It has all the means to right the wrongs the happened.
I feel that it is comments such as these that has caused the satiation in the first place but everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I feel adding “white settlers” is a bit racist. The land was given to all by God therefor it does not belong to anyone in particular and that we all need to learn to share a bit better. Another thing that baffles me is how can we move forward and create a better future if we keep focusing on matters of the past and blaming one other especially based on skin color is not going to get this nation no where anytime soon?
Am not surprised since South Africa has the highest crime rates in the world. They have been killing people in towns and now In villages.This describe who Africa is.

Hi Jackson I feel the reality of the situation is been covered up. This has been happening for years without proper investigation. The crime rate in South Africa is a problem however I think that can be due to poverty. What is happening with these farm murders are not due to the already high crime rate. The farm murders started happening shortly after fights as to who the land belongs to so in my opinion that is why farm murders occur and like I have mentioned above proper investigation rarely happens.
Its very sad to see people lose they live without knowing who is behind it
