📱What Type of Mobile Phone Did You Own First?
When we look at mobile phones, it is something that has evolved overtime. Many years back, here in Africa, making a phone call, one had to go to the post office first. Later these phone booths were installed in strategic locations for convenience. But, still one had to first buy coins from post office to be able to make a phone call. Then, with the introduction of mobile phones, things became somehow easy. However, at the beginning, it was still too expensive to make phone calls as calls were being charged in US dollars. However, things have since changed. Now everyone can have a mobile phone, even in the villages many people have phones and can make calls very cheaply. I first bought a Nokia phone as my first mobile phone. What type of mobile phone did you own first? Can you remember it?
A huge motorola with antenna, so ugly
I don’t really remember it very well.
I think I used a Nokia brand cell phone first
Ad, to own a mobile phone here was very expensive in 1994. We had to pay monthly subscription fee in addition to buying airtime. It was really expensive. How was it in your country?
I think my first phone was a motorola. It was so long ago and I have had many phones since they have been arond.
There was that Nokia of size of brick. Did anyone have a chance of seeing it. I had friend who had one but it couldn’t fit in his pocket, so he would carry it in hands all the time.😃
In my country too, Jackson.
We need to pay a subscription to the provider to be able to make calls. But the price paid is not too high and everyone can afford to buy. Likewise with cell phones, people here always have cell phones
Yes i can remember my first type of Mobile phone, it was a cellcom phone. I was very happy the day i got it, in fact i didn’t buy it from the market, it was a second hand, i bought it from a foreigner who was selling it.
My first phone was motorola.i wanted to buy Nokia but I had little money.
I wonder what happened to Ericsson phones. It used to have good and durable phones! Who knows what happened to this company?
I was very happy and excited the first day i bought a phone .i had never use the phone before that time, so if was the first experience to have a phone and make a call.
That’s all about competition,in my country Uganda,at one time all shops were selling Nokia phones. Currently you can walk on one street and fail to see any Nokia phone.Marketing is very dynamic and competitive customer preference change daily and brands also change daily.
I think until recently, Nokia had stopped production of phones, and I guess Ericsson caesed production completely. I’m right?
In my country, nokia phones for android are hard to find, Jackson.
People here prefer to use Android and iPhone.
Indeed there are still those who use cellphones like Nokia and Ericsson, but it’s not Android.
I have had experience with several mobile phones in my life. The first is, of course, NOKIA, it was the most popular mobile phone back then. Then, I have SIEMENS and Sony Erricson. Of course, that was before the emergence of Android-based smartphone.
After the emergence of the Android-based smartphone, I used several smartphones such as SAMSUNG and LG. Currently, I am using a Chinese-manufactured smartphone, XIAOMI.
I see adharad, here things have since moved on. As long as you buy your airtime you can make phone calls. No more payment of monthly subscription fees, I think it’s the same situation in many countries.
Oooh, yes Nokia spread the word at its time, i remember many of my friends who bought it for their first time. It was really a good and remarkable brand at that time.
It’s very interesting that people owned almost the same types of phones globally.
I have to mention it, Nokia was very attractive at that time in our country. Everybody wanted to have it.
At some point I owned an Ericsson with an erial. I’m still wondering as to what happened to Ericsson phones and the company that produced them.
I am currently using an android produced by China.
I thought my phone was good
I have since used different phones Ericsson, sumsung, and many others but now using techno android from from China. But it’s a good phone and and can do anything for me.
