🤴 Who Is Your Favorite World Leader?

World leaders are inspirational people. They have a great personality, work ethic, and determination. Their struggle and journey to the height of power contain inspiring stories. Their life is worth studying, and their death is worth remembering.

I have three world leaders whom I admire most.

#1 The 4th President of Indonesia, President Abdurrahman Wahid. He is the leader who defends Indonesian integrity in the world community during the 1998 crisis. During his very short reign, he has maintained Indonesian independence by visiting personally many powerful countries in the world. I know that there are people who disagree with me, but it is my personal opinion.

#2 The 6th President of Indonesia, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. He is the first President in Indonesia to win the direct election. During his reign, the Indonesian economy grew consistently. His administration value free speech so much. During his reign, I can see that people can speak freely criticize the government.

#3 The 16th President of The United States, President Abraham Lincoln. I like him mostly because of his famous story of failures. He has experienced tragic personal and career failure. And he sustained it all for 28 years until he was elected President in 1860. Not only that, he may be the greatest statesman in the history of the United States and even the world.

What about you? Who is your favorite world leader?

For me it has to be Winston Churchill, British prime minister between 1940–45 and 1951–55 who rallied the British people during World War II and led Great Britain from the brink of defeat to victory. Absolute legend!!

I always like Nelson Mandela did, he sacrificed his life for the well of S.Africans, spent 27 years in prison because of rejecting white minority rule and after leaving prison was elected the president. He only spent one term in office and never run for the second despite the constitution allowing he to do so. A true freedom fighter and legend. No hunger for power like the current dictators who used to equate themselves to him. Non of them will ever be like him, an exceptional human being. Rip Boss🙏

There were couple of really good prime ministers her in Australia, Sir Robert Menzies who was Prime Minister at the beginning of WW2, John Curtin who was also Prime Minister during WW2 who stood up to Churchill and demanded Aussie troops come back from the Middle East and Europe to defend Australia, John Howard was a good modern day Prime Minister.
I would have to sit down and think about leaders from around the world as I don’t know that many that come to mind. One that I have just thought of would be Margaret Thatcher (depending on your politics will be controversial).

Kenneth — It seems that Mr Jonathan is not an active Nigerian president anymore. I have just read his biography in Wikipedia and found that he holds office for five years between 2010 and 2015. What makes you like him, Kenneth?

Gareth — I have known Winston Churchill since high school from History Class. However, I have really known that he is a great man after watching The Queen Series. Then, I have read an article in Wikipedia, and I found that he is the only Britain Prime minister who served more than one monarch, six exactly.

Steinar — She is one of the world great woman leaders. He did well in Germany as well as in Europe.

Jackson — Mr Nelson Mandela is a great man. He had done very well to put his name in history. His life certainly inspires the African people as well as all of the people in the world.

Edward — I don’t feel familiar with all these prime ministers of Australia. But, I know Margareth Thatcher, she is one of the most remembered world leaders, and of course, one of the most powerful women in the history of politics.

Eli — These are great and well-known names. Their struggle and determination to make Africa a better place is very inspiring.

They worked very hard for the liberation of their nations, while putting money outside politics. The colonial masters wanted to give them money ,but , they refused. The current leaders of Africa collaborate with Europeans, Americans and Chinese business men to still African resources like Gold, copper, aluminum and oil etc

Barak Obama would be in my list, but its decision of same sex marriage in USA disqualified him from my list. Most leader are dictators currently,it is not easy to find a perfect leader.

When you shall answer this question it depends on if you think of a former world leader or a present leader.  I have earlier answered Angela Merkel who still is a very good leader.  If I think of a former leader it have to be Barak Obama.  It is not possible to agree with all decisions a world leader makes.  You have to look to his or hers intensions with the leadership.

Yes Edward, Margaret Thatcher was a powerful lady who ran the UK government as PM for 11 years. She was controversial with some of her changes but I think made the country stronger in the end.
