With the advances in technology comes the development of Artificial Intelligence. Over the past decade we have seen great steps being made in this field. With recent breakthroughs into the Humanoid sector with Honda’s Asimo, Boston Dynamics Spot and Toyotas THR-3 and Houston Mechatronics Aquanaut we have to ask the question is the further development of AI good or bad for humankind? What do you think?
I think it has both positive and negative impacts, in that mankind will live a very comfortable live without bothering to be innovative anymore, then the human innovative traits may die out.
Every innovation that Human made has both sides, positive and negative,sometimes negative side appear in the way we use it.
Inotherwards, artificial intelligence will supplement humans work to make life much better.
Every inventions have both pros and cons. The development of AI will be of immense assistance to mankind.
It will certainly provide more assistance and benefits to mankind, the negative aspects will came out too but we can limit these negative aspects by making good choices.
AI is being developed for a reason and generally with good intentions. It will be the few who learn how to manipulate it for bad deeds. We also have to realise that as AI gets more and more advance there will become even more jobs performed by humans that will become obsolete as the AI does it better. Take robots in car factories.
There’s also a big possibility that it can curtail all human innovativeness to a static point. And people begin to rely on it for everything they want in life. This happened in Africa when the whites came. They brought everything that Africans wanted and were trying to develop for themselves Africans abandoned their inventions and started relying on the Europeans.

There is a possibility for an artificial intelligence to harm humans. When there is a malfunction in the system, the AI could a lot of harm to humans.
The development of technology and innovation have help humanity to advance and make life easier. Most of the time the negative side is less visible that it can be ignored,and Artificiel intelligence isn’t an exception. Although it is very encouraging and helpful but it will have negative side in the future.
There may be a hidden answer there – if you are one of the people involve with creating AI perhaps you will become indispensable compared to the people who jobs AI will be taking over!
In an ideal world technology would and should benefit us as humans. However as history has shown shown us man will turn something good into something that does harm!
The real question is : Will man learn from the past and use AI only to enhance the quality of life or change life as we know it?
I think it will retard man’s possibility to expand in knowledge.
