Unfair Extortion: Stop Increasing Interest Rates, Charges and Extortionate Rates

It is not right that higher interest rates, or higher charges and extortionate rates, are charged to those in society who can least afford it. The usual excuse is that they are high risk borrowers; but isn’t that the very reason why the cost of their borrowing, or buying, should be lower, just so it doesn’t become too onerous for them to pay back? The odds are already stacked against them, making payment already a huge drain on their restricted means and therefore causing them to default on their payments, which then makes them riskier borrowers, keeping them in the loop of debt. Surely, as a society, the aim shouldn’t be to keep those already disadvantaged in that position; our aim should be to help everyone maintain their dignity by helping them sustain some growth, no matter how minimal. That enhances the society better, surely.
